The New Republic Of Washington Square Park created prompts to collect audio responses via phone call about personal memory/identity and voice. We asked questions to collect personal songs and using these to assemble an “anthem” for the “New Republic of Washington Square Park."
We used these songs to create a Soundscape for a sound walk in Washington Square Park that leads participants to the arch for an “arch conspirator” inspired gathering where we will led a “happening/party” which then evolved into a structured piece that we created using our “collective song” pieces (workers songs/propaganda/ceremonial) in a piece that moves from free association of personal songs a
Our Song Prompts:
In case of emergency, we all sing this song
This is a song that reminds me of my parents
